Fentanyl, favored by drug cartels for its lower production cost compared to heroin and potent 50 times stronger, is the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18-45. Blockchain intelligence firm Elliptic has noted the impact of fentanyl in the illegal drug trade, emphasizing the need for regulation and monitoring to combat its proliferation.
